Daga Seeds

Daga Seeds is located at 361 Johari Bazar. We’ve been here for a long time, selling all kinds of seeds for farmers and for people who have small kitchen gardens on their rooftops. Depending on the season, we have different things in stock. Right now, we are getting ready for the next planting cycle, so we have a lot of vegetable seeds and some flower ones too. It’s a small shop and it’s always smelling a bit like earth and dried plants, which I actually quite like. I took over the business from my uncle about ten years ago. It’s interesting work because you get to talk to people about their land and what they’re trying to grow this year. Sometimes a farmer comes in from a nearby village and stays for an hour just talking about the rain and the quality of the soil in his area. We don't sell fancy garden tools or decorations, just the seeds and sometimes a bit of fertilizer if we have enough space in the back to keep it. The shop is quite narrow, and we have small wooden drawers all the way to the back wall filled with paper packets. We try to keep everything labeled clearly, but sometimes things get a bit mixed up in the rush of the season. It’s not a high-tech business at all. It’s just about knowing what grows well in our local climate. If you're looking for us, just look for the old sign near the corner.
