Rathore Agriculture Farm

Our operation is based out of the Old Sabji Mandi near Ajmeri Gate. It’s a place that smells of earth and fresh produce, depending on what time of day you arrive. We spend most of our mornings dealing with whatever has come in from the fields. The Rathore family has been involved with agriculture for quite some time, so it felt natural to have a spot right here in the heart of the market. It’s a noisy area with carts moving around and people shouting prices, but we like the energy of it. We don't have fancy office chairs or air conditioning; we just have our crates and the space we use to organize things. Most of the work is physical, moving bags and checking the quality of the crops. Sometimes the rain makes the ground muddy, which is a bit of a mess, but that’s just part of working near a mandi. We talk to the other farmers and the buyers who come through early in the morning. Our desks are mostly covered in slips of paper and old ledgers. It’s a straightforward life focused on the land and what it grows. We try to keep things moving so nothing sits around for too long. It’s just how we’ve always done things here at Ajmeri Gate, keeping it simple and honest. There isn't much more to it than that.
