Priyadarshni Crafts

We are based at J-6, A. B. Subash Marg in the C-Scheme area. It’s a nice part of the city, but we are more focused on what’s happening inside our doors. At Priyadarshni Crafts, we spend our days surrounded by materials and half-finished projects. There is always someone working on a design or packing up finished crafts to be sent out. The building we are in is decent, but we’ve definitely filled it up with too much stuff. You have to be careful where you walk so you don’t trip over a basket or a roll of fabric. We aren't a big factory; it's more of a workshop feel where everyone knows what the other person is doing. The light in the afternoon is actually quite good for seeing the details on the crafts we make. We don't use a lot of big machines, mostly just hand tools and a lot of patience. Sometimes a customer will wander in from Subash Marg thinking we are a retail shop, and we have to explain that we are mostly doing production and orders. We drink a lot of water because it gets dry in here. The work is slow and repetitive sometimes, but seeing a finished piece is always a good feeling. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a list of things that need to be finished by Friday. It’s just a regular workplace for people who like making things.
