We are over at A-17 in Krishna Nagar, right by Tonk Road near Gandhi Nagar. This is the Nokia Care center, though it feels more like a local workshop most days we are open. People bring in their old phones that they’ve had for years. They hope we can bring them back to life. We spend a lot of time looking through magnifying glasses at tiny parts and cleaning out dust. The shop isn't very big. The waiting area only has a few plastic chairs. It gets tight when five or six people show up at once. We have a counter where you drop off your device and we give you a little slip of paper. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for everyone. The air conditioner makes a bit of noise, but it keeps us cool while we work on the electronics. We see everything from cracked screens to phones that fell in water. Sometimes we can fix them right away, and other times they have to stay with us for a week. We don't make any big promises about the results. We just tell you what we see when we open it up. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the main road. It’s just a place where we try to fix things that are broken. It’s steady work for us.
