Sharda Phyto Genetics Pvt. Ltd. is over at No. 124 in the Navjeevan Complex on Station Road. It’s an older building, but it suits us just fine. We work on plant genetics, which I know sounds like something from a movie, but in reality, it’s mostly just looking at seeds and plants all day. We spend a lot of time in the lab or looking at test results to see how different varieties are growing. Being on Station Road means it’s easy for people to drop by, though we aren’t really a shop in the traditional sense. Most of our work is behind the scenes, trying to understand how to make crops better or more resistant to pests. It’s a slow process. You can’t rush plants, no matter how much you want to. We have a small laboratory setup and some office space where we keep our records. The team is pretty quiet, mostly focused on the technical side of things. We don't do much in the way of selling ourselves to the public. Usually, we just deal with other people in the agricultural field who know what we do. It’s a bit cramped in the complex sometimes, especially when we have a lot of samples coming in, but we make the most of the space. It’s a steady kind of life, working with nature at a very small level. We just focus on the seeds and let the results speak for themselves.
