Our little spot is located at number 106 in Bandhu Nagar, right in the Jai Chamunda Colony area off Sikar Road. It’s usually pretty loud outside because of all the traffic moving toward the main highway, but inside it’s a bit different. The shop is filled with all sorts of electrical things that most people probably wouldn’t give a second look at unless something in their house broke. We have rolls of black and red wire hanging from hooks on the wall and boxes of switches stacked up almost to the ceiling. It can be a bit hard to find things sometimes if you don't know exactly where we put them last Tuesday. We spend a lot of time testing bulbs for people or showing them how a certain plug works. There’s a small desk where we keep our tools and a half-finished cup of tea that usually gets cold before we can finish it. The floor is concrete and shows every bit of dirt that comes in from the street, so we sweep it out a couple of times a day. We don't really bother with making the place look like a showroom. It’s more of a workspace where things get done. People from the colony come by asking for help with a fused wire or needing a new fan regulator. We try to find what they need in the piles of stock we have. It’s just how we spend our days here in this part of Jaipur.
