Marble Moorti Industry

Our workshop is tucked away in Khajanewalon Ka Rasta, just off the second cross in Chandpole Bazar. It’s a narrow lane, but it’s always full of life. At Marble Moorti Industry, the first thing you’ll notice is the white dust. It gets on everything—our clothes, the floors, and even the tea cups if we’re not careful. We spend our days working with stone, using hammers and chisels to shape the pieces. It’s noisy work, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that we like. Most of us have been doing this for years, and our hands show it. The space is filled with blocks of marble waiting to be carved and finished pieces standing in the corners. We don’t have a fancy storefront; you just walk in and see us working. Chandpole Bazar is a busy place, so we often hear the sounds of the market and the temple nearby. Sometimes visitors stop by just to watch us work for a few minutes. We don’t mind. We just keep our heads down and focus on the stone. It takes a lot of time and a steady hand to do this right. By the end of the day, we’re usually exhausted and covered in stone powder, but it feels good to see what we’ve made. It’s just how we’ve always done things here, working piece by piece until the job is done.
