If you walk over to Bhag Singh Ka Chouraha in Adarsh Nagar, you will find us at number 59. It is right at the crossroads, so there is always a lot of dust and noise from the vehicles passing by. The shop is filled with rolls of cloth from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the fabric is going to fall over on us, but we have a system for where everything goes. We spend our mornings unrolling materials for people to look at and then rolling them back up when they are done. It’s a lot of physical work, and by the end of the day, our backs are usually a bit sore. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we often take samples out to the doorway to see the true colors in the sunlight. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; we just use a big ledger and a pen to write everything down. The shop has been in this spot for years, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. We see a lot of regulars who stop by just to say hello or to see if we have anything new in stock. It gets very busy during the festival seasons, and we barely have time to sit down then. It is just a regular textile shop run by a few of us who know the trade well. We keep things simple and try to stay busy.
