Lovely Hair Cutting Parlour

Our little parlour is over in Deep Nagar, Jhotwara. The address is Plot No. 103, which is quite easy to find if you know where the Kd Memorial Clinic is. We are just a short walk from there. Jaipur is a beautiful city but it gets very dusty in this part of town, so I have to wipe down the mirrors and the counters at least three times a day. The name of the shop is Lovely Hair Cutting Parlour, which was chosen by my wife years ago when we first opened. It is a humble place with just the basic necessities for cutting hair. We don’t have those reclining chairs that wash your hair for you. You just sit down, we put the cloth around you, and get to work. Most of the people who come here are from the Deep Nagar neighborhood. We see a lot of fathers bringing their sons for their first haircuts, which is always a bit of a mess because the kids cry, but we manage somehow. I have a small bench for people to sit on while they wait. There’s an old clock on the wall that is five minutes fast, but I leave it that way so I don’t run late with my appointments. We don't do anything complicated, just standard cuts and shaves. It’s a quiet life in Jhotwara and we like it that way. No big drama, just hair and conversation.
