Ajay Gens Parlour

Ajay Gens Parlour is a small shop, number three, located on the Delhi Road near the Ajmer Road bypass. Being near the bypass means we get a lot of heat and noise from the heavy vehicles. It is a simple structure, and I have tried my best to make it a place where someone can just sit down and relax for a few minutes while they get their hair done. I have been working here for several years now. The shop is quite basic with just the essential tools like scissors, a few electric trimmers, and some spray bottles. I don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just a mirror and a small clock that is usually a few minutes fast. The floor is concrete, which makes it easier to sweep up the hair at the end of the day. I keep a bucket of water and some clean towels ready at all times. Most of my customers are laborers or shopkeepers from this side of Jaipur who don't want anything complicated. They just want a neat look. It gets very bright in the morning when the sun comes through the front door, so I often have to hang a small cloth to block the glare. It is hard work staying on my feet all day, but I am used to it by now.
