Kohinoor Clothing Craft Centre

We run the Kohinoor Clothing Craft Centre down in Chandpole Bazar. Our specific location is 3250 Jailal Munshi Ka Rasta, which is right near the Santoshi Mata Mandir in the Purani Basti area. This is a very old and crowded part of the city, full of history and narrow lanes. Our shop is surrounded by other small businesses and houses. We focus a lot on the craft side of clothing, so we have materials and finished pieces all over the place. It’s often quite noisy with the sounds from the bazar and the temple bells nearby. We spend our days sorting through fabrics and talking to customers who come in from the neighborhood. Being in Purani Basti means we see a lot of tradition in the way people dress and shop. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything. It's just a practical space where we do our work. Some days we are busy with custom orders, and other days we just wait for people walking through the rasta to pop in. The lighting inside isn't always the best, but we know where everything is. We’ve been here long enough that the shop feels like a second home. We just try to keep things moving and help out the folks who need something specific. It’s a modest life, but we like being right in the heart of the bazar near the mandir. There is always something interesting happening outside our door.
