Kishore Moorti Bhandar

We are Kishore Moorti Bhandar, located at 1277, Khejruo Ka Rashta in the 1St Chowk area of Chandpole. This is where we carve and finish statues. It’s a dusty job, mostly because of the stone and marble we work with every single day. If you walk into the shop, you’ll see white dust on almost everything, including our clothes and hair. We’ve been in Chandpole for a long time, and it feels like home to us. The work is slow and requires a lot of patience. You can’t really rush a chisel. Some days we just sit and work on one small detail for hours until it looks right. It’s quiet work, except for the sound of tapping on stone that goes on all day. We don’t have a big marketing plan or a sales team. People just know where we are and come to us when they need something specific for a temple or their home. The space is filled with half-finished figures and blocks of stone waiting to be started. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the heavy pieces. We like the traditional way of doing things, even if it takes longer than the modern machines. Chandpole is a place where many people do this kind of work, so we are in good company. We just keep our heads down and focus on the stone in front of us. It’s what our family has done, and it’s what we do.
