If you go down to Chandpole Bazar, you’ll find Kamal Battery Repairing. This isn't the kind of place with air conditioning or soft chairs. It’s a workshop where we get our hands dirty every single day. We deal with old batteries, lead, acid, and a lot of jumper cables. Most of the time, we are hunched over a workbench trying to see why a cell isn't holding a charge anymore. Chandpole is a loud, crowded place, but we like the energy of the market. We've been here long enough that people just know to drop their batteries off and come back later. We don't have a receptionist; you just talk to whoever is holding the multimeter. It’s honest work. We fix what can be fixed and tell you straight if it’s time to buy a new one. The floor is usually a bit stained and there’s a smell of metal and chemicals in the air, but that’s how a real repair shop should be. We don't bother with shiny signs or big advertisements. Our work speaks for itself when someone’s car finally starts up again on a cold morning. We take pride in knowing the guts of a battery better than anyone else on this street. It’s a small shop, but it keeps us busy from morning until the shutters go down at the end of the day.
