Jain Mobile

We have our shop, Jain Mobile, in Barkat Nagar at Awadhpuri 1, shop number S-12. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the big markets, but we still get a good number of people walking by. The shop is small and simple. We have a glass counter where we keep a few mobile handsets and some accessories like headphones and power banks. Most of our work is just regular stuff, like helping someone with a recharge or putting a new tempered glass on a phone that someone dropped. We have a small stool behind the counter where I sit and listen to the radio when it’s slow. The walls are painted a light blue, though the paint is starting to peel a bit near the floor. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It’s just a place for the local people to come when they have a problem with their phone. Sometimes we talk about the local news or the weather while I’m working on a device. It’s nice being in a residential area like Barkat Nagar because you get to know the families. We don't try to sell people things they don't need; we just help them out with whatever they came in for. It’s a small business and we keep things very basic. Every evening we tidy up the counter and head home, ready to do it all again the next morning. It is not a very exciting job, but it is steady and we like the people around here.
