Jain Carpet Udyog

Being located in Hanuman Colony here in Kartarpura is pretty convenient for us. Our place at number 22 is where all the carpet work happens. It’s not a huge factory, just a decent-sized space where we can spread things out. Making carpets is a messy business if you really look at it. There’s thread everywhere and the floor is never really clean no matter how much we sweep. We’ve been at this for years. Most of the people working here have been with us since the start, so we all know each other’s habits. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. We just focus on the knots and the colors. Sometimes the dyes don't come out exactly the same as the last time, but that's what happens when you do things manually. People in the colony know us as the carpet people. If you walk by, you can usually hear the radio playing in the background while the work gets done. It’s a steady job. We don’t rush things because rushing leads to bad work. We just take the orders as they come and try to stay on top of the pile. It’s quiet work, mostly, except for when we are loading up a truck to send things off. It’s just a normal workshop where we try to do things right without too much fuss.
