We have been selling art jewellery from this shop for many years. Chaura Rasta is always packed with people, especially during the festival season. Our shop might look small from the outside, but we have a lot of items tucked away inside. We focus on traditional designs that people like to wear for special occasions. It’s a family business and we’ve been here through many changes in the city. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most of our customers are people who are walking by or who have bought from us before. We spend our days showing different pieces to customers and making sure everything is in its place. The heat on the SMS Highway can be quite something in the summer, but we keep the fans going and stay busy. We know most of the other shopkeepers on this stretch of Chaura Rasta. It feels like a community here. We just try to keep a good selection of jewellery so that anyone who comes in finds something they like. It’s a lot of work keeping track of all the small items, but we enjoy being part of this busy street.
