Being right near the bus stand in Jobner is quite something. It’s always busy with people coming and going. My place in Hingonia is right where the action is, but it can get quite dusty with all the buses kicking up dirt from the road. Jaipur is hot most of the year, so we deal with the heat as best as we can. I’ve been around this area for a long time. It’s a small space, nothing like the big shops you see in the city center. We keep things pretty simple here. Most of the day is spent talking to people who are just passing through or neighbors who have lived here as long as I have. There’s always a bit of noise from the street, and the 303328 zip code is a big area, but everyone seems to know the landmark of the bus stand. I don't really use fancy words to describe what I do. It’s just daily life and helping out where I can with whatever people need. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. That’s just part of living here. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it hasn't been a priority lately. It feels like home even though it's a place of business. We just take things one day at a time and see who walks through the door next.
