We are located at G1-138 in the EPIP zone of Sitapura Industrial Area in Jaipur. It’s a big building, but inside it’s just a lot of sewing machines and people working hard. Indus Gartex Pvt. Ltd. is where we spend most of our daylight hours. The sun in Jaipur can be really harsh, so the industrial area feels like a giant oven sometimes. We have big fans going, but they mostly just move the warm air around. Still, the work gets done. We handle garments, mostly focused on the sewing and finishing parts. There are rows and rows of tables where people are cutting fabric or checking for loose threads. It’s a very manual process. We take pride in the fact that we stay busy. There is a lot of noise from the machines, a constant clatter that becomes like background music after a while. Most of us bring our lunch from home and eat in the small shade outside during the break. It’s a simple life. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just make clothes and make sure they are ready when they need to be. The trucks wait outside the gate every evening to take the boxes away. Once the gates are locked, we head home and do it all again the next morning. It's a steady rhythm that keeps us going through the months. We just like the feeling of finishing a big batch of work.
