If you find yourself at Bhan Nagar Mode near Prince Road, you’ll probably see us. India Telecom is at number 1 on Queens Road, right at that busy intersection. It’s a spot where people are always rushing to catch a bus or an auto, so we get a lot of people just popping in for a second. We deal with all the usual telecom stuff—recharges, new connections, and sometimes helping people figure out how to use a new app on their phone. The shop is small and the shelves are usually overflowing with different boxes and wire tangles. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard over the counter. We’ve been here at this corner for a long time, watching the shops around us change hands while we just keep doing our thing. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for the next person, then a sudden rush where everyone wants something at the same time. We don’t have any fancy mission or big plans, just keeping the shop open and making sure people can stay connected. It’s a simple life on a very busy road, and that suits us just fine. We just try to be helpful to anyone who walks through the door during the day.
