Hastkriti Arts & Crafts

If you find yourself over at Crystal Court in Malviya Nagar, you might see us at Shop No. 215. We’ve been running Hastkriti Arts & Crafts for some time. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about how we stack things on the shelves so nothing falls over. There are a lot of handmade items here. Some are a bit dusty and some are brand new from the workshop. We spend a lot of time talking to the people who make these things. They come from all over with their wares. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded when a new delivery arrives and we haven't found a place for everything yet. It’s just how it is when you enjoy collecting different crafts. The lighting in the mall can be a bit bright, but we try to make our corner feel a bit more comfortable for anyone who stops by. People walk in just to look around mostly. We don’t mind that at all. It’s nice to have a chat about where a certain bowl or a piece of cloth came from. We aren't trying to be a big chain store or anything like that. It’s just a local shop where we keep the things we like. Sometimes we stay late to rearrange the window display. It never looks perfect, but it’s ours. We usually have some tea in the back room if the day is slow. It’s a quiet life most of the time, just surrounded by all these textures.
