My name is Harish and I have been running this mobile shop on Mukundpura Road in Bhankrota for quite a few years now. It is not a very big place and the sign outside has faded a bit from the sun, but people in the neighborhood know where we are. Most of my day is spent sitting behind the glass counter waiting for someone to come in with a cracked screen or a phone that just won't turn on. I handle a lot of recharges for the local guys and sell things like chargers, simple plastic cases, and earphones. It gets pretty dusty out here because of all the trucks and bikes going down Mukundpura Road, so I have to wipe down the glass cases every single morning. I don't have any fancy staff, it is just me and sometimes my nephew comes by to help when it gets busy in the evenings. We see a lot of students from the nearby hostels who are always looking for a cheap fix or a second-hand phone. I try to be straight with people about what can be fixed and what is just a waste of money. If a battery is dead, I tell them. I don't see the point in making things sound better than they are. The shop stays open until about nine at night because that is when most people are heading home from work and stop by. It is a simple life but it keeps me busy.
