Gupta Carpets

Gupta Carpets is over at S-3A, Kabir Marg in the Bani Park area. It is a relatively quiet neighborhood for Jaipur, which we appreciate when we are trying to get work done. Our space is mostly taken up by large stacks of carpets and rugs that reach almost to the ceiling. If you walk in, you will probably find us sitting on the floor checking the edges of a piece or rolling something up for a customer. We do not have a fancy showroom with bright spotlights and glass displays. It is more of a warehouse feel where the focus is on the actual carpets. The air always has that faint smell of wool and old fabric, which is something you get used to. We do not have a big marketing budget or a team of salespeople. It is just us and a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. Most of our day is spent moving heavy rolls around, which can be quite tiring. We take long breaks in the afternoon when it gets too hot to do much. We drink tea from the stall around the corner and talk about the local news. It is a very straightforward way of doing business. We do not make big promises or use corporate jargon. We just show the carpets we have and let people decide for themselves. It is a quiet, honest life here on Kabir Marg.
