You can find Green Gems & Art at 1548 Mohalla Pannigran near Subhash Chowk. This part of the city is very old and the streets are quite narrow. We work with stones and different kinds of local art. The building we are in has been around for a very long time. It has high ceilings and small windows. We have workbenches where we sit and look at the gems under small lamps. It’s quiet work that requires a bit of patience. Sometimes the stones aren't what we expected, so we have to figure out a new plan. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. Most of our work is done in the back rooms where it’s cooler. Subhash Chowk is a landmark that everyone knows, so it’s not too hard to find the general area. We’ve lived and worked in this Mohalla for most of our lives. It feels like home. We don't really do much to promote ourselves. People who are interested in gems usually find their way to us eventually. We have piles of books about stones and old tools that still work better than the new ones. It’s a slow pace of life here. We just focus on the piece in front of us and try not to rush things. It's how my father did it and how we do it now. We just keep the lights on and keep working.
