Gobind Bros

We are right in the heart of things at 118 Nehru Bazar. If you know Nehru Bazar, you know it is one of the busiest markets you can find. Gobind Bros has been at this address for a long time. The shop is number 118 and it’s packed from floor to ceiling with all the things we keep in stock. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside, especially when we have a few customers at once. The walls are lined with wooden shelves that have been there forever. Outside, the street is a constant flow of people, rickshaws, and noise. It’s never quiet here. We open the shutters early in the morning and don't really stop until late in the evening. There is no air conditioning, just a few old fans that hum while we work. We know most of the other shopkeepers on the block and we all look out for each other. It’s an old building with a lot of character and maybe a few cracks in the plaster. We don't spend money on fancy displays because the products speak for themselves. Most of our day is spent climbing ladders to get items down for people or talking to regulars who have been coming to Nehru Bazar for decades. It’s a traditional way of doing things and we wouldn't have it any other way.
