Glow Women World Beauty Parlour & Special Dance

Our place is situated on Sirsi Road in the Jagdamba Nagsar part of Jaipur. It is a bit of an unusual setup because we have the beauty parlour in the front and a space for dance classes in the back. This is located in the Shunna Nagar area. I handle the beauty side of things and my younger cousin teaches the dance steps. It can get pretty noisy when she has a class going on and the music is thumping through the walls while I am trying to do someone's eyebrows. We started this about four years ago because there were not many places for women to go nearby for these things. The shop is small and we use simple curtains to keep the different areas separate for privacy. Most of the ladies from around Sirsi Road come to us for basic haircuts or to get ready for local parties. We do not have air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that hum loudly all day. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just have to wait it out with the doors open. It is a very local spot and we know most of our customers by their first names. We use standard products from the market and do not try to be anything too fancy. It is a busy life balancing the salon work and the dance schedules, but it works for us. The shop stays open until seven.
