Global Handloom and Textiles is out at Khasra No 709/771 in Ghata Benada. It’s near the Shree ji Temple, which is a big landmark for us. Being out here means it’s a lot quieter than the middle of Jaipur city. You can hear the birds and see more open space, though it gets quite dusty when the wind picks up. We focus on handlooms, which is a slow and careful process. It’s not something you can rush. The building we work in is simple and practical. We spend a lot of time checking the looms and making sure the threads are right. Since we are near the temple, we often see people walking by on their way to pray. It gives the place a calm feeling. Our address is a bit hard to find if you aren't from around here, but the locals all know where Ghata Benada is. We don’t have a fancy website or a big sales team. Most people find us through word of mouth. It’s a lot of hard work, and your back might ache by the end of the day from standing over the fabric. But there’s a good feeling in seeing something finished that was made by hand. We aren't trying to change the world. We are just keeping the local traditions going in our corner of Rajasthan. Every morning we start early to beat the heat, and that is just how our days go.
