General Repairing Works

If you head over to C 69 in the Sudarshanpura Industrial Area, you’ll come across General Repairing Works. It’s a straightforward kind of shop. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. Usually, if the phone rings, someone just wipes their hands on a rag and picks it up. The industrial area is always buzzing with activity, and our little corner at C 69 is no different. People bring us all kinds of things that need fixing. Some of it is simple and some of it makes us scratch our heads for a few hours before we figure it out. The floor is concrete and usually has a few oil stains, no matter how much we try to sweep it. We’ve got shelves lining the walls filled with spare parts we’ve collected over the years. You never know when a specific bolt or a particular bracket will come in handy. It’s a practical place for practical people. We don’t put on any acts here. If something can’t be fixed, we’ll tell you straight. Most of our day is spent bent over a workbench or under some piece of equipment. It’s quiet work in its own way, despite the noise of the surrounding factories. General Repairing Works is just a place where things get put back together by people who know how to use their hands. We stay busy from morning until evening and that's how we like it because it keeps the day moving fast.
