Shop number one in Nandpuri Market is where we stay most of our lives. Ganesh Telecom has been here since the market felt much smaller than it does today. Shyam Nagar has grown a lot all around us, and we have seen many changes. We see a lot of the same local faces coming in every week. People mostly come by for quick mobile recharges or to buy a new SIM card for their kids. Sometimes they just want to know why their internet is acting slow or why their battery is dying. We try to help out with those small problems even if it’s just a simple settings issue. The shop is quite small, so it gets very cramped when more than three people are inside at once. We have a small wooden bench outside for people to wait their turn. The summer heat is probably the hardest part of the job. We have a small cooler but it only does so much when the sun is hitting the front door. We keep a lot of colorful cables and batteries hanging on the walls to save space. It looks a bit messy to some, but we know exactly where everything is located. My brother handles all the accounts and I spend my time talking to the customers. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are at the front of the market. It's a noisy place with the motorbikes constantly going past.
