G. M. C. Carpets

If you come down to Ashok Chowk in Adarsh Nagar, you’ll find us at number 758. G. M. C. Carpets has been here for years, right in the heart of the neighborhood. The shop is filled with rolls of carpets leaning against the walls. It makes the whole place feel a bit smaller than it actually is. There's a specific smell to new wool and dyes that hits you as soon as you walk in. We don't have bright lights or fancy displays. We just unroll what people want to see right there on the floor. It’s dusty work, and our backs usually ache by the end of the day from moving the heavy rolls around. We drink a lot of chai to keep ourselves going. Adarsh Nagar is a lively place, and we know most of the people who walk past our door. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside when it’s not too hot. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or anything like that. We just rely on people knowing we’re here. It’s a simple business, passed down through the family. We aren't looking to change much. As long as we have carpets on the rolls and a few customers, we’re happy. It’s just a regular local shop doing its best every day.
