Exclusive Sarees

The shop is tucked away at 50-118 on Rajat Path here in Mansarovar. It’s a busy street, especially in the evenings when families are out walking. Exclusive Sarees is basically just a room filled with shelves from floor to ceiling. We try to keep things organized, but when we are showing different pieces to customers, the counters usually end up covered in silk and cotton. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding all day long. We have been in this Mansarovar spot for quite a bit of time now. Most of the people who come in are neighbors or people who heard about us from a friend. We don’t do big ads. We just sit here, drink our chai, and wait for people to stop by. The light in the shop isn't always the best, so sometimes we have to take a saree out to the doorway to show the real color in the sun. It’s just how we do things. We have a couple of wooden stools for people to sit on while they look through the stacks. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy, but they keep the place cool enough in the summer heat. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. It's just a few of us who know a bit about fabric and how it should feel. We pick out the stock based on what we think looks decent. It’s a quiet life mostly, just working on Rajat Path.
