Down in the Industrial Area Phase I, you can find Dhruva Transformer at E 300 on Bhawani Singh Road. It is not a very quiet place to work. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or the hum of electricity being tested. The air smells like oil and copper wire most of the time. We have been in this spot for a while, surrounded by other workshops and factories. Our space is filled with heavy equipment and bits of machinery scattered on the workbenches. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months when the tin roof picks up all the heat. We spend a lot of our time winding coils and checking the casings for leaks. It is dirty work, and our hands are usually stained with grease by the time we take a lunch break. We sit outside near the gate to eat our tiffins. The trucks come in and out of the industrial area all day, bringing in raw materials or picking up finished units. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure everything is bolted down right. We don't have a fancy office, just a small desk in the corner with a lot of paperwork and old calendars on the wall. The guys here have been working together for a long time, so we just get on with the jobs as they come in. It is a straightforward business where the focus is just on the work on the floor.
