Delhi Hardware Store

Delhi Hardware Store is located at Shop Number 22, right by the Mahadav Bihari Temple on Station Road. Being on Station Road means we are in one of the loudest and busiest parts of the city. Hotel Gandharva is right across from us, so that’s what we tell people when they are looking for the shop. We have all kinds of things piled up inside—tools, nails, hinges, and everything else you’d expect from a hardware place. It’s a bit of a maze in here and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer wants. We don't use a computer for everything; sometimes we just know which shelf has the right size bolt. The temple nearby brings a lot of people to the street, so it's never a dull moment. We have been running this shop for years. The floor is a bit uneven and the shelves are made of old wood, but they hold a lot of weight. We don't bother with fancy displays. We just put the stuff where it fits. Most days it’s just us talking to contractors or people trying to fix something at home. It’s a simple business. We open when the sun is up and close when the street finally starts to quiet down late in the evening. It’s hard work but we like being right in the center of things. If something is broken, we usually have the part to fix it somewhere in here.
