Running Agarwal Sales at Dadi Ka Fatak means we are always around the sound of the railway crossing. It is a busy spot. People are always waiting for the gates to open and close. Our shop sits right there, and we see everything. We sell different items, and people stop by mostly because they are passing through. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, so we have to keep cleaning the counters. It’s not a quiet place, but it keeps us busy. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure things are in order. When the trains go by, you can't hear much for a minute. Then it goes back to the usual traffic noise. We’ve been at this location for a good amount of time, so the locals know us well. It is a simple setup with our goods stacked where we can reach them. We don't do much advertising; people just see the sign when they are stuck at the fatak. Sometimes someone will come in just to ask for directions while they wait for the train. We help out where we can and get back to our work. It is a very normal way to spend the day. We open up in the morning, do our sales, and close when the sun goes down. That is pretty much our story here. We just stay at our post and watch the trains pass by.
