Collectibles & Curios

Our place, Collectibles & Curios, is inside the Sharma Building on MI Road. It is a pretty old building, and you can tell by the stairs. We are near the Jaipur G P O, so the mail is never an issue. This shop is full of all sorts of things we have picked up over time. Some of it is dusty, and some of it is just sitting in corners waiting for someone to notice. MI Road is always moving fast, but inside here, it feels a lot slower. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes I forget what is even up there on the top row. It is not a big shiny showroom. It is just a room filled with items that have some history to them. I spend a lot of time just moving things around to make space. People come in from the G P O side mostly. The floors creak a little when you walk near the back window. I don't mind the noise of the traffic outside; it becomes like background music after a few years. We don't have fancy lights or anything. Just the regular bulbs and whatever sunlight comes through the front. It is a quiet way to spend the day. If you like looking through old stuff, this is where we stay. Sometimes we find things we forgot we even had when we clean the back corners out. It is a bit of a maze in here.
