At A- 281 Shiv Nagar, right on Road No 2 in the VKIA area, you’ll find us. Bajrang Gifts & Plastic Collection is what it says on the sign, though the paint is peeling a bit. It’s a bit of an odd mix, having plastic buckets and chairs right next to birthday gifts and toy cars. Most of the people who come in are from the industrial area around here, looking for something sturdy for their homes or a quick toy to take back for their kids after a long shift. The shop feels a bit cramped because we try to fit so much in. There are stacks of plastic stools near the entrance and rows of colorful items further back. The floor is concrete and we usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back. It’s noisy outside with the trucks moving, so you have to speak up a bit when you’re inside. We don’t do any fancy marketing or anything. We just open up early, sweep the front, and see who comes by. Sometimes we sit on the plastic chairs outside when it’s quiet. It’s a practical kind of place. If you need a heavy-duty bucket or a shiny gift box, we likely have it buried somewhere in a stack. Dealing with the dust from the road is a constant battle, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We just keep the door open and wait for the day to finish.
