Chhabra Carpets

You can find us at 16/B, Old Pratap Nagar, right along Amer Road. It’s a spot we’ve called home for a while, and it’s usually filled with the smell of wool and textiles. The stacks of carpets get pretty high, sometimes making it hard to walk through the back rooms without bumping into something. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Instead, it’s just piles of patterns and colors everywhere you look. Most of the day is spent unrolling things to check the edges or making sure the weave is holding up like it should. Amer Road is always humming with people and cars, so there is never a quiet moment outside our door. We keep a few old wooden chairs for when we need to take a break and a ceiling fan that squeaks a little when it’s on high. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting the heavy rugs and moving them around to find what someone is looking for. We get a bit of dust on our clothes by the end of the shift, but that’s just part of the job. The lighting isn't the best, so we often take pieces near the door to see the colors in the actual sunlight. It’s a simple setup, really. We just focus on the inventory we have and making sure the shop stays somewhat organized despite all the heavy rolls of material we deal with daily.
