Chanchal Hair Saloon

We’ve been here at Plot-304 on 80 Feet Road for a while now. Joshi Marg is usually pretty busy, especially with people coming from Kalwad Road. It's just a regular hair shop. We open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the first person to walk in. Most of the guys around Jhotwara know where we are. It’s nothing fancy, just some chairs and mirrors. Sometimes it gets crowded on Sundays, so people have to sit on the bench and wait their turn. We talk about the news or what’s happening in Jaipur while we work. It’s mostly just haircuts and shaves. We see the same faces every month. The fan makes a bit of noise but it keeps the place cool enough. If you’re driving down from the main road, you’ll spot us easily. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people just see the sign when they're passing by to go home. We keep things simple. Sometimes kids come in and they're scared of the clippers, so we have to go slow. It’s part of the job. The 302012 area has changed a lot lately, more shops opening up, but we’re still here doing the same thing. It’s a decent living. We try to keep the place tidy, but when it’s busy, hair gets everywhere on the floor until we get a chance to clean it. That's just how a barber shop is.
