Gungun Creations

Gungun Creations is over at Plot No. 28 in Teeja Vihar Manyawas. We are quite close to the Baba Kshetrapal Mandir, which is a good landmark if you're trying to find us in Mansarovar. This part of Ballabhgarh is always moving, and our little corner is no different. We do a lot of our work with fabric and thread, so there are always rolls of material leaning against the walls and snippets of string on the floor. It’s a bit of a maze inside with the cutting tables and the different stations. We don't have a big fancy sign out front, just the address and the name. Most people find us by word of mouth or because they live nearby in the Manyawas area. The sound of the machines is constant, a kind of rhythmic tapping that you stop noticing after the first hour of work. We have a small window that looks out toward the mandir, and sometimes you can hear the bells if the machines are turned off for a break. It’s not a factory with thousands of people, just a handful of us making sure everything is stitched right. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the local news while we work. The space is a bit tight, especially when a new shipment comes in, but we make it work. It feels like a home as much as a business because we spend so much time here among the piles of cloth.
