If you go to Raisar Plaza in Indira Bazar, you’ll find us at shop F-61. It’s a pretty crowded building, especially on weekends when everyone is out looking for gadgets. Baba Mobile is just a small spot among many others, but we’ve been here long enough that people know the way. The stairs up to the floor can be a bit steep if you aren’t used to them. We spend most of the day behind the counter, looking at screens and talking to folks who come in. Sometimes it’s just a broken glass or a battery that won’t charge anymore. We have tools scattered around the back bench because there’s always something to fix. It gets loud with all the chatter from the hallway, but that's just how life is at Raisar Plaza. We don’t have much room for fancy displays, so we just stack things where they fit. My cousin helps out when it gets busy in the afternoons. We drink a lot of chai while waiting for parts to arrive. It’s a simple life running a mobile shop in a busy market like Indira Bazar. We open up around ten and stay until the shutters go down in the evening. Most of our customers are just people from the neighborhood or students looking for a deal. We just try to keep the phones working so people can get back to their lives. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the plaza, and we all just sit in the dark and chat until it comes back on. Being at shop F-61 in Raisar Plaza feels like being part of a big, noisy family.
