Asian Jewellers

Asian Jewellers is located over in Bani Park on Rajendar Marg, right near Bapu Nagar. The shop isn't hard to find if you are familiar with the area. We have been sitting in this same spot for a while now, watching the street change outside our window. Inside, it's mostly about the glass cases and the small lights that show what we have. We spend a lot of time looking at tiny pieces of metal and stones through a magnifying lens. It gets quiet in here sometimes, which is nice compared to the traffic on the main road. Most of our day is spent talking to folks who live nearby or someone who heard about us from a cousin. We don't do much in terms of shouting about our business. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for the regulars to stop by for a chat or to get something fixed. The neighborhood has a lot of trees and it feels a bit more relaxed than the city center. We keep the floor swept and make sure the jewelry stays clean. Sometimes we are busy resizing a ring that doesn't fit anymore or checking the clasp on an old necklace. It is just steady work that keeps us occupied from morning until we lock up at night. There is always a pile of paperwork on the back desk that never seems to go away.
