You can find us at G-28-29 in Indira Bazar. Having two units next to each other gives us a bit more room than some of the neighbors, but it still feels full once the morning rush starts. We handle a lot of different mobile stuff. Some days it feels like every person in the city has dropped their phone on the pavement. We see a lot of cracked glass and batteries that have given up. The atmosphere here is pretty informal. We talk to the other shopkeepers, drink some tea, and wait for the next person to come in with a problem. We don’t have a script or a corporate way of talking. If a phone is old and not worth fixing, we just tell the person that. It saves everyone time. The shelves are mostly packed with boxes of accessories and some second-hand phones we’ve touched up. Working in Indira Bazar means you have to be quick because everyone is in a hurry. We’ve got stools for people to sit on while they wait, but often they just stand around and watch us work. It’s a noisy, busy place but we like being where the action is. We just focus on getting the phones working again so people can get back to their lives. It’s not fancy, but we have the tools we need and we know how to use them without making a big fuss about the whole thing.
