Ankit Batteries

You’ll find Ankit Batteries over on New Sanganer Road in the Mansarovar RIICO Industrial Area. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of vehicles passing by every minute. We spend our days surrounded by all kinds of batteries, from the small ones for cars to the big heavy duty ones for bigger machines. The shop floor is concrete and usually has some stains from old battery acid, but that’s just part of the trade. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team; we just answer the phone and help the people who drive up. Often, someone comes in with a car that won't start, and they’re usually in a hurry. We test the battery and see if it can be saved or if it’s completely dead. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting those heavy blocks and making sure the connections are clean. The air in the shop smells like lead and plastic sometimes. We keep a few chairs out front for customers to sit while they wait. It’s not much, but it’s a place to rest. We’ve been in this RIICO section of Mansarovar for a while, so we’ve seen the area grow quite a bit over the years. We just keep doing our thing, one battery at a time, until the sun goes down and we lock up for the night.
