Akash Construction

Our home base for Akash Construction is at 656-B, Laxman Path in Vivek Vihar. It’s a quiet residential street, which is a bit of a contrast to the noisy construction sites we spend most of our time at. The office is basically a converted room where we keep all our blueprints, site permits, and samples of tiles and bricks. There’s always a layer of dust on the windowsills, no matter how much we clean, probably because of all the materials we are constantly moving around. We have a couple of old wooden desks and a large table in the center where we spread out the plans to go over them with the foremen. Working in construction means our schedules are never really fixed. We might be out at a site by six in the morning and not get back to Laxman Path until well after dark. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing department. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood seeing what we’ve built and asking us to do something similar for them. We focus on the basics like solid foundations and good brickwork. It’s honest, physical work that can be quite exhausting, but it’s what we know how to do. We take our tea black and our meetings are usually short and to the point. We just want to make sure the walls are straight and the roof doesn't leak for the families who live there.
