You can find us at Agarwal Enterprises over in the New Anaj Mandi at Chandpole Bazar. We are at spot C 12. If you know the Mandi, you know it is always a bit of a mess with all the grain sacks and the laborers moving back and forth. It is a very loud place, especially in the mornings when the auctions are happening and the trucks are trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes. Our space is more of a warehouse and a small office than a regular shop. There is dust everywhere from the grain, and it gets into everything, even the tea we drink. We deal mostly in bulk, so we have huge piles of sacks stacked up to the ceiling. It can be a bit dangerous if you aren't careful where you walk. I spend most of my day sitting at a metal desk covered in papers and old registers. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just a calendar on the wall from three years ago. It’s a hard business, and the prices change every single day depending on what’s coming in from the farms. We work long hours, starting before the sun is up and staying until the last truck is loaded. It’s not a fancy office job, but it’s what we do. The Mandi has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. We just hope the weather stays good for the crops so the market stays busy.
