Chitrotpala Farmers Producer Company Limited is located at Arjunpur, near Kudanagarigaradapur in Patkura. We named ourselves after the river because that water is what keeps everything green around here. Our office isn't anything special. It’s just a place in the village where we keep the scales and the ledger books. If you walk by, you might hear us arguing about the price of fertilizer or laughing about something that happened at the market. It’s a group effort. None of us really knew how to run a company when we started. We just knew that we were tired of being the last ones to get paid. So, we got together. Now we handle the selling ourselves. It’s a lot of learning on the fly. We deal with the weather, which is never the same two years in a row, and we deal with the logistics of getting things from Arjunpur to the buyers. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights, especially during the harvest. We don't have a big staff. It's just us and whoever is free to help out that day. We share the work and we share whatever we make. It’s a simple system that works for us. People know where to find us if they have a problem or if they have a good crop they need to move. We are just part of the local landscape here in Patkura.
