Rishi Mulayam Salon

We've been running the Rishi Mulayam Salon on Damoh Naka Road for quite some time now. You can find us right in front of the Sumdedia Complex here in Jabalpur. It’s not one of those big fancy places you see in the malls, just a regular local shop where people come to get their hair cut and maybe a shave. Most of the folks who come in live right around the corner or work nearby in the city. The chairs are a bit old but they do the job just fine. We start early in the morning, usually around the time the shops nearby begin opening their shutters. It gets pretty busy on the weekends, so sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but people just sit and chat or read the newspaper while they're waiting for their turn. We don't spend much on decorations or anything like that. The walls have a few posters and that’s about it. We’ve seen many families come through these doors over the years. Some of the kids who used to come with their fathers now bring their own sons. It is a simple life and a simple business. We just focus on what the customer asks for and try to get it right. Traffic on the road outside is always moving, but inside it’s just the sound of the fans and the scissors. We’re glad to be part of this neighborhood. It’s home for us, and we plan to keep the doors open for as long as we can.
