Denim Salon

Denim Salon is right in the middle of the bustle at Noor Market, near the SBI ATM. If you know Jabalpur City, you know how crowded Russel Chowk gets. Our shop is just a small part of that madness. We’ve got a blue sign out front that’s been there for years. Inside, it’s mostly just mirrors and the sound of the ceiling fan spinning. It can get quite hot in the afternoons, but we keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze from the market. There’s always someone coming in or out. Because of the ATM next door, there are always people standing around outside our window. We see a lot of different faces every day. It’s not a quiet place by any means. You can hear the horns honking and the street vendors shouting their prices all day long. The shop has a bit of a worn-in feel, like an old pair of jeans, which maybe fits the name. I’ve got my favorite pair of scissors that I’ve used forever, and the spray bottle always sits in the same spot on the shelf. It’s a busy life in Noor Market, but we’ve found our rhythm here. People come in for a cut, talk for a bit, and then head back out into the crowd. We just keep doing what we do.
