Manu Herbal Beauty Parlour is located at Gullaua Chowk, right on Ganga Sagar Road in the Garha area of Jabalpur. This part of the city is always full of life and a bit of noise from the vehicles passing by. The shop isn't fancy, but it serves the purpose for everyone living around here who needs a bit of grooming. I spend my mornings mixing up some of the herbal pastes we use because people seem to like the natural stuff more than the bottled chemicals. The shelves are mostly filled with jars and small bowls. It gets quite dusty because of the road work nearby, so I am constantly wiping down the counters. There is a specific smell of sandalwood and dried herbs that hangs in the air here. I usually keep the door open a crack to let some air in, even if it means hearing the honking from the chowk. Most of my customers are regulars who have been coming since I first started out. We talk about the weather or the price of vegetables while I work on their hair or facials. It is a small business, and I do most of the work myself without any extra help. In the rainy season, the road outside gets a bit muddy, but people still find their way to the door. It is just a regular life here in Jabalpur, keeping things simple and working hard.
