Triveni Steel

Triveni Steel is located at Plot No. 143 in the New Loha Mandi area. We are right opposite Sapna Sangeeta Road, which is a landmark most people in the area know. The Mandi is a very loud and hectic place to be. From early morning, there are trucks lined up to load and unload steel. The sound of metal clanging together is constant, and you have to shout sometimes to be heard. Our yard is filled with piles of steel rods and sheets that have been sitting there in the sun. It gets incredibly dusty, so we are always wiping down the desks in the small office cabin. The cabin is just a basic structure with a tin roof that gets very hot in the summer. We have a couple of old fans that struggle to keep things cool. Most of the work happens outside in the open air. The workers are tough and used to the heavy lifting. We keep a ledger to track what comes in and what goes out, and it’s usually covered in thumbprints and smudges. We don’t have any fancy signs or brochures. People come to us because they know where we are and they see the steel sitting in the yard. Lunchtime is the only time the place gets a little quiet, as everyone sits down in the shade to eat. Then it’s back to the trucks and the noise until the gates close.
