Steel & Pipe Distributors

We are located at No. 49, South Hathipala. It’s a pretty busy spot, mostly filled with the sound of metal clanking and trucks backing up. Steel & Pipe Distributors is really just a large warehouse area and a small front room where we sit and take orders. Most of the day is spent checking the pipes and making sure the sizes are exactly what people asked for before they load them up. It gets pretty dusty inside, especially when the wind picks up from the main road. We’ve got stacks of different pipes and steel pieces all over the concrete floor. It’s not the most organized looking place in the world, but we know where everything is kept. Sometimes a truck arrives late in the evening and we have to stay a bit longer than we planned just to get it unloaded. The tea guy comes by twice a day, which is usually a nice break when things are slow. Dealing with steel is heavy and dirty work, so by the end of the day, everyone is usually ready to head home. We don’t do much advertising; people just know we’re here in the Hathipala area by word of mouth. The metal gate is a bit squeaky and probably needs some oil, but it still works fine. We just focus on the daily tasks, like checking the invoices and seeing what needs to be ordered for next week. It’s a straightforward life here.
